To Whom It May Concern: The purchase of a home is usually the largest single expense one makes in a lifetime. If you buy a $175,000 house it may cost you $400,000 over the course of a thirty-year mortgage, to me that is a scary proposition. Another scary proposition is trying to sell a home in a flat real estate market. Seven years ago that¿s where my wife and I found ourselves. We asked friends and associates for recommendations. Two people independently told us of the great experience they had working with Mike Spillane. We met with Mike and were immediately impressed by his warm, friendly, personal manner. We gave Mike the daunting job of selling our condo in a very flat market. He did a superb job of marketing the property. When the time arose to close the deal there appeared to be an impasse that was certain to destroy the deal between the buyer and ourselves. Mike was able to negotiate a settlement in ¿Solomon like style¿ that was truly fair to all parties. He is a man of great experience but more importantly he is a man of great integrity! It was just one year latter my wife and I decided to purchase a new home. We wanted new construction and we wanted to return to Chester County. Needless to say Mike was the first person we called. Mike is a former builder. His advice on developers, construction techniques, materials, as well as location was invaluable. His knowledge saved us tens of thousands of dollars. We got the house we wanted at the price we wanted in the location we wanted. I would like to close this note by making two points. My wife and I would be considered low to middle end customers. Our condo sold for $92,500 and our new home was purchased for $167,000 four years ago (now appraised at $220,000, THANKS MIKE!!!). Mike treated us as if we were selling a five million-dollar home! Secondly, Mike¿s vocation is the real estate business. He is not simply a salesman. He is a very moral person. Sadly this can not be stated about everyone in the real estate industry.
